This is my life....

you know those days where beating your head against the wall actually seems like a fun idea compared to even thinking about dealing with other, more pressing and stressful elephant in the corner!

I feel that youth ministry has a bunch of those…

take diocese that, for all better explanation, are just too lazy to change.. they are complacent in mediocrity, and OK with the fact that only a small number of people are actually getting served…..

y is that ok?

the only thing that mentality does is breed more complacent people who just won’t change because “it’s too hard” or “takes too much time“…

and just keeping a bunch of adults in the perpetual state of “camp goers” for ever!

nothing new, nothing fresh.. just crap. Lot’s and Lot’s of regurgitated crap, all dress up and called shiny and new!

why is everyone ok with the fact that shitty adults are allowed to work with kids, and while doing so telling these youth all sorts of crap theology…

You don’t guilt kids into be Christian and you don’t tell then which of there friends are going to Hell. You don’t keep kids in a state of awkwardness so that they never leave you.. WTF.

take this crazy bitch who had my job before me. Her goal was to be the youth”s best friend, to be buddy buddy. SERIOUSLY, how fucked is that? a forty- something-year-old wanting to be best friends with kids…. also she guilted and manipulated them so that when they thought of church, Christ, God… they associated it all with her!

This job, my job, is about teaching youth, forming their minds and lives, as well as their faith… it is not about being friends, its about being an advocate, a mentor, a teacher. it’s about prepping them for life, so they can make all their own choices and mistakes and always know they have a home and a place free from judgment

I have so much to do here…. woo woo

"oh Children and Drumsets….. it’s all fun and games until they interupt a funeral!"
